I baked my tempeh in the oven with store brand bbq sauce, and while it was delicious, it came out less crunchy looking than Chris'. I covered my baking dish in foil, so maybe that's why?
I also served mine on a bagel because it was really the only bread I had in the house, besides some really soft wheat, which would have failed to hold up.
I also made a couscous pilaf. I sauteed onions, celery and baby bella mushrooms in a little olive oil. added vegetable stock, brought it to a boil, added the couscous and five minutes later, it was done.
It was a great summer meal, and the leftover tempeh and pilaf made a great bento lunch the next day at work!
